A stay at Les Écrins is made of small, thoughtful details: a personal recommendation for dinner, a safe place for your bikes, a picnic ready for a day in the mountains. Here you will find all the practical information for your stay, and a few of the thoughtful touches that make it your own. If anything is missing, simply ask. Arrival & practical information

Your arrival

  • Late arrival On request As we personally welcome each of our guests, simply let us know your arrival time in advance. Arrivals after 11 pm require prior arrangement and carry a €20 late check-in fee.

  • Taxis We are happy to recommend and book a taxi for you, for your arrival or a day out.

Time to unwind

  • The outdoor hot tub Included 10 am to 8 pm · up to an hour One private session a day, from your arrival until the evening before your departure, at no extra charge.
  • Massage On request Our trusted local practitioners offer relaxing, sports, duo and four-hand massages, some of them at the house. Massages are booked and paid directly with the practitioner, and we are happy to help you arrange yours.
  • A romantic welcome €10 to €60 For a birthday, an anniversary or simply a special stay, we can prepare your room before you arrive: champagne, flowers, rose petals on the bed. Available on request, priced according to the items selected.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. Late arrivals are possible on request, with a supplement after 11 pm.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Is there parking?

Yes, secure private parking is reserved for guests, with a covered, locked garage for bikes and motorbikes.

Can I charge an electric car?

Yes, a charging point is available at the house. Please ask us about charging when you book.

Can you help us get around?

Of course. We are happy to recommend and book a taxi for your arrival or for a day out.

Are pets allowed?

Les Écrins is home to our two cats, Potiron and Pumpkin. To keep the house calm for them and for our guests, they remain the only animals in residence.

Is a vegan breakfast available?

Yes. Our breakfast is vegetarian, and a vegan version is available on request. Please let us know before you arrive.

Can you prepare a picnic?

Yes, we can prepare a picnic hamper for your day out, ideal for a hike, a trail run or a bike ride. Please order it at least 48 hours in advance.

Can we have dinner at Les Écrins?

For dinner, we will point you to our favourite restaurants around Orbey. At the house, a selection of wines and sharing boards is available for a relaxed evening.

Can you help us plan our stay in Alsace?

With pleasure. We share our favourite restaurants, wine estates, walks, markets and villages, according to the season and what you enjoy.

Can we arrange a romantic surprise?

Yes. We can prepare champagne, flowers and rose petals in your room before you arrive, on request and at an additional charge.

Can I have a sports assessment during my stay?

Yes. Laurent offers interested guests an assessment of physical and functional abilities, with personalised training and performance recommendations tailored to their activity, followed by a written report to take away with you. The one-hour assessment, including the report, costs €120. Sessions can be arranged once you are here, even at short notice, and Laurent will fit in with your plans as much as possible.

  • Quality bedding & Linvosges linen Every room has quality bedding, dressed in bed linen and towels from Linvosges, the renowned Vosges linen house, for soft, deeply restful nights.
  • Summer comfort The Tourmaline Suite is air-conditioned, and fans are available in the other rooms on request.
  • Meet the residents Potiron & Pumpkin Les Écrins is home to our two cats, Potiron and Pumpkin. (Potiron is simply French for pumpkin, so yes, they are a matching pair.) To keep the house calm for them and for our guests, they remain the only animals in residence.
  • Laundry service €15 per load For guests travelling from further afield or enjoying a longer stay, your clothes can be washed and dried, so you can travel a little lighter and enjoy your stay in comfort.
Village amenities

Les Écrins is ideally located in the heart of the village, with everything you might need close at hand.

  • Right on the doorstep 2 min walk A supermarket, petrol station, pharmacy, restaurants and a medical practice.
  • In the village centre 5 to 10 min walk More restaurants, a bakery, a small organic grocery shop, the local cinema and other useful amenities.

Food, wine and small pleasures

  • A homemade vegetarian breakfast 8.30 to 10 am Prepared each morning with local produce and homemade specialities, and served in the dining room. A vegan version is available on request.
  • A picnic hamper for the day €15 per person Heading out for a hike, a trail run or a bike ride? We can prepare a picnic hamper to take with you. Please order it at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Local wines and sharing boards From €35 In the evening, enjoy a selection of wines with sharing boards of local produce, a simple way to round off the day at the house. A sharing board with a bottle of wine of your choice is available for €35, with other options à la carte during your stay.

For guests coming to the Vosges to hike, run or ride, Laurent offers a personal assessment of physical and functional abilities, with personalised recommendations to improve your stride, your pedalling, your jumps or your overall performance.
